Inner peace

Society’s opinion traditionally has a bigger impact on people than their own feeling of inner peace. It’s easy to get lost in the labyrinth of desires vs. obligations, the own feelings vs. the expectations of the people around. It’s not easy getting out. It’s not possible to get out at once and for all. The struggle for others’ approval never ends. But from time to time it’s not a bad idea to trust ourselves and turn to the proper concepts of what’s good and what’s bad.

It’s not worth winning the respect of the disrespectful. Especially not at the price of the own wellbeing. As there’s always going to be negative thinking, contempt, disapproval. What counts is who it comes from. The important people will never do it, the people who do it will never be important.

At the end of the day, acting with dignity means acting, according to your own ideas and values.
And at the end of the day this is the only way to get some peaceful sleep.

To Adi, which I love with all my heart. Sleep peacefully, baby:-*
